Let’s be honest: Bacon is the best breakfast meat.
By far… Seriously… I dare you to challenge me on this… I will beat you…
Sausage plays an important role in the breakfast spread (as does ham and the occasional country fried steak), but bacon has always been the most important part of a balanced breakfast. Not only is it delicious and versatile, but apparently, it is also the key to living to the ripe age of 105! Bacon not only stands on it’s own as a delicious food item, but it also can be added to almost any food to increase the flavor exponentially.
This, of course, begs the question: To what new foods can we add bacon?
Last summer I joined a men’s group that is notorious for their food and their love of bacon. One of the staple dishes of our meetings are the infamous (drum roll please)…. Bacon Cinnamon Rolls.
Not only are the bacon cinnamon rolls incredibly tasty, but they are also really, really easy to make. Just follow these 5 steps:
- Buy a 1 lb. package of bacon (whatever brand and variety suits your fancy
- Buy a can of refrigerated cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing (I like the Grands Cinnabun kind)
- Half-cook the bacon (not till it’s crispy, but right before)
- Unwrap your cinnamon rolls, lay one strip of bacon on each of them (the strip of bacon is almost the exact same length), and re-roll
- Cook the rolls according to the instructions on the can.
That’s it! It’s so simple! If you make these Bacon Cinnamon Rolls, three things will happen immediately: Your house will smell better than it has ever smelled before, your company/family/etc. will not stop talking about how brilliant you are, and you will never want to eat the boring, non-bacon cinnamon rolls ever again. You owe it to yourself to try them… These rolls will revolutionize your concept of breakfast!

My father will be 90 years old next year; he still drives, he is doing great, and he eats 4 slices of bacon every single morning. Along with two fried eggs. He gave up drinking, and he gave up smoking, but he will never give up his bacon 🙂
Love it! You will have to make him some of these!
I almost licked my screen.
Careful! Your screen might be dusty (mine was!)…
*ahem, i will have to make this, tomorrow; that’s when i get paid……
These are pretty much my all-time favorite breakfast food!
