Deviating From The Plan

12 Jun

So this morning, I was thinking about God’s plan for my life and what that is going to look like when we move to Virginia. At the same time I was also thinking about my sin and my struggles.

The thing I was reminded of this morning, is that when I choose to live in sin, I attempt to put God’s plan away for a time.

We need to have a habit of repentance. We are to carry our cross daily.  We are to surround ourselves with those that will build up our faith, because fear and doubt hate community.

Here are two scriptures that directly relate to this battle:

“What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:1-4

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 13:1

Both sin and God’s plan feel good, the difference is that sin is a temporary release to a permanent issue.

Whether of not we are going to give in to sin is up to us… I choose life.

What are some ways that you keep on track?
